Who we are

The G.O.A.T. Debate (michaelvslebron.com) is a fan site. Contact: CONTACT_EMAIL@example.com (placeholder, to be replaced before launch).

No accounts

There is no login. We never ask for your name, email, phone or any other personal details to play.

What we collect

• Your votes, stored anonymously against a random ID, so the live percentages and your result page work.
• A session cookie (gd_sid, about 6 hours) that keeps your place in the current game, and an anonymous voter cookie (gd_vid, up to 1 year) so repeat plays show new matchups and each matchup counts once per browser. Both hold only a random value. They are strictly necessary for the game.
• A one-way hash of your IP address, used only for rate limiting (stopping spam voting). We do not store the raw IP.
• Result links such as /r/abc123xyz9 hold your picks per question and nothing personal. Anyone with the link can view that result.
• Your consent choice, stored in your browser, once ads are switched on.

How long we keep it

• Rate-limit counters (hashed IP): short time windows (one hour at most), cleared out automatically once stale.
• Game sessions: the cookie expires after about 6 hours; the anonymous record of votes and results is kept so the live percentages and share links keep working.
• Anonymous voter cookie: up to 1 year, or until you clear your cookies.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets Google Analytics cookies and does not tell us who you are.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows no ads yet. When ads are on, we plan to use Google AdSense. Google and its partners, the third-party ad vendors, may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites and to measure them. Ad cookies are only set after you choose “Accept”. Where the law requires it (for example the EEA, UK and Switzerland), consent is collected through a Google-certified consent platform.

• How Google uses data from partner sites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
• Turn off personalized ads: Google Ad Settings, or opt out of other vendors at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.

Your choices and rights

You can clear your cookies at any time to reset your anonymous ID, and change your ad choice by clearing site data. We hold no data that identifies you by name. For privacy questions or requests, email CONTACT_EMAIL@example.com.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will update this page when anything changes, including before ads are switched on.
